Welcome Lacrosse Fans...Tournament FullI would like to welcome you to the Official Website of the Greg Campbell Memorial Paperweight Tournament. We are looking forward to another great Event this year, which is promising to be the greatest Event ever in the history of the Tournament. Last years 18-team format was the 2nd largest ever and the goal is to break the mark achieved two years ago of 22 teams. Last years participants traveled as far as Innisville and Peterborough to enjoy the experience of lacrosse in it’s purest for and we hope that all players, coaches and parents left with fond memories of the game. We would like to welcome again for the 4th year running, BOSTON PIZZA as the presenting sponsor of the Tournament and I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Trevor & Sarah Sainsbury for their continued support. Last year the Event is being held on the 150th anniversary of the City of Welland and the weekend was stocked with events throughout the City including Welland own “IlluminAqua”, the Canadian Biker Build-Off, the Ontario Rowing Championships in the Welland Canal, a car show & on the Saturday, the Kid’s Day in Merritt Park. This year the Tournament will also be overlapping several great Events in Welland transpiring over the long weekend. Welland's own ILLUMINAQUA will be hosted on Friday the 24th on the banks of the Welland Canal. Welland County Motor Speedway will be hosting its season finale on the 25th (Sat) of the regular season and will be raffling off a mini bike that day. The Welland canal will also be the site of the WIFC ROW Ontario Provincial Championships along with the 5th Annual Canadian Biker Build Off on Saturday July 25th. Our HOST PROGRAM will again continue this season with the goal of continuing to ensure that the participating teams are provided with continued attention for the duration of the Event. The Paperweights have always been a joy to watch as they start out on the beginning of their lacrosse experience. We have seen many Paperweight players through the years participate in the Tournament and move on to play Junior B, Junior A and at the National Level This Event has been heralded as the “unofficial Paperweight Tournament” and its goal has always and will continue to operate under the banner of fair play and fun. I look forward to seeing all of the players, both first and second year athletes as we help to start you on the road of building fond memories of the game of Lacrosse.
